The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. As the General Manager, Facilities, you are responsible for overseeing all building operations, maintenance services, groundskeeping activities, health and safety programs, financial performance, and contractor management to ensure efficient and compliant facility operations.
Now, if you were to come on board as a General Manager, Facilities, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Supervise and coordinate janitorial, maintenance, and grounds maintenance services.
- Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs, including procurement and oversight of subcontractor services.
- Ensure all maintenance activities, repairs, and installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the implementation and compliance of health and safety programs, policies, and life safety requirements.
- Manage operational and capital budgets, monitor expenditures, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Provide leadership to facility staff through hiring, training, workload management, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary processes when necessary.
- Monitor facility operations and service delivery, evaluate effectiveness, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop, review, and assess project plans, maintenance strategies, and asset management programs, including capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial/state, and local regulations, codes, and legislative requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure service excellence and operational success.

- Degree, diploma, or designation in Engineering, Business Administration, Property Management, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive experience.
- 5 to 7 years of supervisory experience managing commercial, institutional, or multi-site facilities operations.
- Strong knowledge of facilities management disciplines including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, equipment maintenance, grounds maintenance, janitorial services, health and safety, and project management.
- Proven experience managing operating and capital budgets, financial reporting, forecasting, contract administration, procurement processes, and vendor negotiations.
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements including construction, fire safety, building codes, sanitation, environmental compliance, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Experience leading capital projects, asset management initiatives, environmental and energy programs, KPI management, and operational improvement strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and decision-making skills with the ability to develop teams, manage priorities, and build positive relationships with staff, customers, and service providers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, facility management systems, and the ability to interpret technical documentation, drawings, schedules, and operational procedures.
