The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. Please note that artificial intelligence–based tools may be used at certain stages of the recruitment and applicant screening process.
Now, if you were to come on board as our HVAC/Building Operator, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Ensure all aspects of the building operations including HVAC, Mechanical, plumbing, life safety, and other systems and equipment are operated in a safe manner
- Building Automation System (BAS) troubleshooting and review of HVAC performance using BAS
- Execution of preventative maintenance tasks on building systems as prescribed on CMMS
- Work closely with occupants, contractors, and other building operators to ensure efficient building operations
- Comply and apply all company policies, procedures and other federal, provincial, and municipal laws, codes, and regulations in the daily operations of the site
- Troubleshoot, test, and repair HVAC systems
- Read and interpret HVAC control drawings and building schematics
- Take daily/weekly/monthly required readings of all major equipment and record findings in engineering logbook
- Respond to after hour emergencies on a rotational basis
- Keep records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including a record of any supplies ordered and used
- Facilitate and work with service contractors by ensuring they adhere to site safety protocols and are adequately supervised when on site
- Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Manager

- Preferably community college diploma in Refrigeration/HVAC/any other Mechanical programs or skilled trades license in Mechanical trades
- 2+ years progressive maintenance and operations experience in commercial, institutional, and manufacturing facilities
- Knowledge of building mechanics, Lighting controls systems, Mechanical system operation, Automation, CMMS
- Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be detailed oriented.
- Basic computer knowledge
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
