The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $58,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. Now, if you were to come on board as our Patient Portering Supervisor, we would ask you to do the following for us:
- Overseeing the daily operations of patient transport and managing unionized associates.
- Collaborating effectively with clinical departments, supervisors, and team members.
- Develop and ensure adherence of appropriate policies, procedures, job routines by the associates to meet the needs of the site and conduct associate trainings as needed.
- Regularly liaising with end users to address procedural and urgent needs, ensuring smooth patient flow.
- Ensure assigned staff have reported to work and clocked in properly; document late or absent employees.
- Document call offs, and replace for any shift and coordinate assigned staff breaks.
- Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to staff and review priorities. Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
- Creation of all necessary shift reports, including maintenance deficiency requests for immediate or scheduled consideration
- Advocate and ensure strict adherence to the infection control process and instruct/advise accordingly
- Lead and support patient transport associates to achieve KPIs.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Utilize specific software effectively for the production & utilization of all relevant reports
- Assisting with the development of best practices for portering services.
- Available to work flexible hours to meet hospital’s needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

- At least two (2) years of Supervisory experience in related field.
- Experience working in Healthcare and/or acute care environment.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with software programs related to Portering and EVS management.
- Working knowledge of all Infection Control, Standard Precautions and Health & Safety procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, both individually and in group settings.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional administrative and organizational abilities, with a talent for prioritization.
