This position is responsible for the supervision of all hourly associates within the kitchen, reporting to the Sous Chef & Chef. This position supports the Chef team as required, and acts as the primary leader in the absence of the Chefs.
- Maintain responsibility and accountability teams costs and expenses
- Provide reporting to management.
- Performs pre-preparation and preparation tasks (measuring, restocking supplies, and set up of unit) assigned by Manager and prepares product.
- Ensures safe and sanitary practices adhered to in accordance with company and facility policies. Ensures that all food served in the right condition, at the right temperature and at the right time.
- Maintains portion control in accordance with the recipe standard.
- Answers all guests’ inquiries and concerns immediately.
- Maintains proper service appearance and etiquette at all times. Serve customers quickly and courteously using proper service techniques.
- Maintains established food rotations in all areas (stock room, fridge, freezer) in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
- Reports damaged and/or inoperable equipment and fixtures to unit manager.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by management. Assist anywhere else in the unit as needed.
- Ability to interact with customers in order to assure customer satisfaction.
- Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and property control procedures.
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within time frames established for the job.
- Responsible for following HACCP/QA standards. Hot and cold temp logs, cleaning logs
- Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment. Maintains all work areas to ensure that they are clean and orderly.
- Responsible for cleaning all equipment and following cleaning schedule.
- Responsible for daily paperwork, weekly inventories, stocking and other tracking reports
- Responsible for date labeling all the products in the storage room and store
- Ensures that everyone follows Compass Group Canada Quality Assurance Policies and procedures as well and Public Health Policies on food handling, cleaning and sanitation at all times.
