Description
You will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the establishment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. In addition to regular housekeeping responsibilities, this position is required to respond to emergency alerts during the shift by following site emergency-response procedures, contacting emergency services when required, assisting with responder access, and remaining with the resident until emergency responders arrive, where safe to do so. In addition, maintain general security of building and property.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Clean and disinfect areas and items such as washrooms, resident rooms, common areas, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors.
· Strip, wash and make beds; collect and fold linen.
· Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed.
· Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, mezzanines and common areas, and clean as required.
· Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed.
· Snow shoveling in winter
· Apple picking in summer
· Remove garbage from resident rooms and common areas.
· Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information.
· Maintain a safe environment at all times, including proper use of wet floor signs and other safety measures.
· Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines.
· Report all injuries, hazards, safety concerns and unusual incidents to the supervisor or Manager on Call immediately.
· Respond to resident emergency alerts, monitoring-provider calls, pendant alerts, or other emergency notifications in accordance with site procedures.
· Call 911 where emergency medical assistance is required or where the situation is unclear and may involve resident safety.
· Attend the resident’s location without delay when notified of an emergency, if safe to do so.
· Remain with the resident until emergency responders arrive, unless it is unsafe to do so or staff must briefly provide access for responders.
· Provide emergency responders with access to the building and direct them to the resident’s suite or location.
· Notify the Manager on Call or designated leader once the immediate emergency response is underway or stable.
· Complete required documentation, including incident reports and call logs, before the end of the shift or as directed.
· Follow all site emergency procedures, including fire, flood, medical emergency, security, and resident emergency-response procedures.
· This role does not provide medical care, personal care, nursing care, or first aid unless the employee is separately trained and designated to do so.
