How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating assigned kitchen, food production and food-service associates.
Job Summary
Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Production Chefs, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Take responsibility for daily operations, such as preparation, cooking, presentation and services periods.
- Be responsible for occasional catering events.
- Ensure all health and safety policies are followed.
- Perform administrative duties that include completion of weekly purchase summaries, scheduling associates for events, inventory.
- Direct and supervise all aspects of food production and services.
- Coordinate and prepare a large volume of meals daily following several different menus and concepts
- Ensure appropriate portions and presentation
- Plan production, delegate tasks and manage kitchen staff
- Control and recycle surplus production
- Assist with assessment of food requirements according to the menu and inventory, ordering the necessary commodities according to operational standards
- Complete production sheets and/or register
- Control the quality of commodities as soon as they arrive and rotate the stock
- Place orders
- Adhere to the budget
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation and safety standards
- Assist with service provision as needed.

- 3 years of foodservice or related management experience in high volume, food production environment
- Degree or diploma in culinary management is an asset
- Food Safe Certification
- Advanced Food Safe or Red Seal certification is an asset
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Solid knowledge of hygiene and occupational health and safety standards
- Customer service oriented and strong communication skills
About you:
- Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies
- Three years of kitchen management experience, preferably in a University or College environment
- Creative ability to apply trendy food items and presentations to operations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying attention to accuracy and detail
- Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule (including weekends)
- Capable of performing administrative duties
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Red Seal Certificate and experience working in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) preferred
Position Requirements:
- Valid full driver’s license with a clean record
- Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
- Pass a Criminal Record Check
- Shift: 10hr/Day
- Rotation: 20 Days on/ 10 Days off
The hourly wage for this position is $26.00. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
