The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. The Director, Operations Accounting is a key leadership role within the Accounting function, reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting.
This role is responsible for providing oversight of operational accounting across multiple sectors, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to internal controls and company policies.
Working in close partnership with Operations, this role ensures that accounting processes support the business while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, control, and compliance.

Now, if you were to come on board as our Director, Operations Accounting we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sector Controllers, Controllers, and Accountants across multiple business sectors
- Provide oversight of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and internal control requirements across all assigned sectors
- Oversee balance sheet integrity, including detailed review of reconciliations and resolution of issues
- Ensure accurate and timely client billings, reporting, and adherence to contractual requirements
- Act as the key Accounting partner to Operations and Clients (where required), supporting issue resolution while maintaining appropriate financial governance
- Support internal, external, and client audit processes and respond to audit inquiries effectively
- Lead the accounting onboarding of new business
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage automation and AI-enabled solutions to streamline accounting processes, enhance controls, and improve reporting efficiency
- Drive consistency and standardization of accounting processes across sectors
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls, efficiency, and scalability
- Ensure teams operate in alignment with company policies and financial governance standards

- CPA designation (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of IFRS
- Progressive leadership experience in accounting or controllership roles within a complex, multi-entity environment
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, controls, and compliance
- Experience managing teams and developing accounting professionals
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience (JD Edwards is an asset)
