Now, if you were to come on board as a Chef de Partie, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Support the unit’s Culinary Director, taking on their responsibilities in their absence.
- Assist the Culinary Director with inventory, costs, cost control, requisitions, and the issuance of supplies and equipment for food production.
- Prepare and supervise the culinary team in producing a wide range of foods, while also sharing your culinary knowledge with the team.
- Participate directly in menu planning and development, activity planning, expenses, budgeting, and cost control, while ensuring inventory levels are properly maintained.
- Ensure resources are available for maximum productivity and maintain high quality standards; manage food and labor costs to achieve optimal profitability.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction regarding menu options and service delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with Compass’s quality assurance and health and safety program, occupational health and safety legislation, and WHMIS regulations.
- Regularly coordinate workplace inspections, provide WHMIS training to all staff, and promptly report any workplace accidents or incidents to head office.
- Make recommendations regarding maintenance, repairs, and the upkeep of the kitchen, its equipment, and other areas as needed.

- Four years of relevant culinary experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- Strong background in high-volume catering or banquet operations.
- Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation.
- Basic supervisory skills with the ability to motivate, lead, and train team members.
- A strong team player with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
