1931 Gallery Bistro is a modern casual restaurant located inside the Vancouver Art Gallery, featuring a vibrant patio, seasonal menus, wine, cocktails, and a fast-paced summer atmosphere. We are looking for energetic and hospitality-driven team members to join us for the busy season.
Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and proactive Host / Hostess to join our front-of-house team. This role includes hosting duties as well as food running support during busy service periods. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings positive energy to the team.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and seat guests in a warm and professional manner
- Manage reservations and guest flow throughout service
- Assist with waitlists and guest inquiries
- Run food and support servers during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining areas
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams
- Help create a positive guest experience from arrival to departure
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience is an asset
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stay calm and organized during busy periods
- Weekend and holiday availability preferred
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Schedule
- Seasonal position (Spring/Summer)
- Part-time hours
- Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
