Position Description & Key Duties
Employees working in the Tim Hortons unit are responsible for providing excellent customer service while supporting the daily operations of the location. Employees must be available to work a variety of shifts based on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, professional and efficient customer service to students, staff, faculty and visitors.
- Take customer orders accurately and process cash, debit and credit transactions.
- Prepare and serve Tim Hortons beverages, including coffee, tea, specialty beverages and cold drinks, following established recipes and procedures.
- Prepare and assemble food items, sandwiches, baked goods and other menu items according to Tim Hortons and Chartwells standards.
- Operate POS equipment and ensure all transactions are processed accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked service area throughout the shift.
- Restock food, beverages, cups, lids, condiments, packaging and other supplies as required.
- Monitor product levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to the supervisor.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Complete cleaning duties, including counters, equipment, floors, work areas, dining areas and other assigned areas.
- Follow proper procedures for food preparation, storage, temperature control, rotation and waste.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including preparation of the unit, stocking, cleaning and securing the area.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and a high level of customer service.
- Respond to customer questions and concerns in a professional and respectful manner and seek assistance from a supervisor when required.
- Work cooperatively with team members and assist in other areas of the operation as business needs require.
- Follow all company, campus and unit policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Availability Requirement:
Employees must be able to have the flexibility to work varying shifts, including opening, daytime and closing shifts, based on operational requirements.
