Site-Specific Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the general responsibilities outlined above, associates may be required to:
- Support operations across multiple campus food service outlets including Tim Hortons, Subway, Harvey’s, Pizza Pizza, and Catering as assigned.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to brand standards and Compass Group operational procedures.
- Assist with sandwich preparation, beverage production, food assembly, packaging, and merchandising.
- Stock coolers, display cases, condiment stations, and service lines throughout operating hours.
- Receive and process student meal plan, debit, credit card, and cash transactions using approved point-of-sale systems.
- Maintain speed of service standards during peak student traffic periods.
- Assist with the setup, delivery, service, and teardown of on-campus catering functions and special events.
- Restock catering supplies, beverages, disposables, and event inventory as required.
- Follow brand-specific recipes, food preparation, and presentation standards.
- Monitor product freshness and rotate stock according to FIFO procedures.
- Maintain dining areas, food service stations, beverage counters, and back-of-house areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Perform dishwashing, sanitation, and cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members across multiple locations to support operational needs.
- Observe all Compass Group, Fanshawe College, Public Health, and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Report equipment issues, health and safety concerns, and maintenance requirements to a supervisor.
- Support campus events, orientation activities, open houses, conferences, and other special functions as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the Fanshawe College Food Services operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in quick service restaurants, retail food service, coffee shops, catering, or campus dining environments is considered an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on operational requirements.
- Food Handler Certification preferred.
