The hourly wage rate for this position is $19.50 – $20.50 Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Job Summary:
Coordinates all Facilities Support Services activities to support the business needs with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Ensures all departmental service activities are documented in a complete and efficient manner. This includes coordinating the Site Shift activities of the Custodial staff. Ensures that the FSS equipment is in good working order and provides training and cleaning instructions for such equipment. Orients/trains new hires on the usage of Apotex Inc.’s standard cleaning products. Responsible for daily activities with respect to the company’s sanitation, grounds keeping, pest control and Pharmaceutical Waste program.
Assists in performing general cleaning inside and outside of facilities as required.
Job Responsibilities:
• Key liaison for Custodians on the shift providing guidance and support.
• Works closely with/supports the Supervisor, FSS in the day-to-day activities, ensuring the shift work schedule is adhered to.
• Ensures that all FSS equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, buffers etc.) are in working order and trains Custodians on correct usage of the equipment. Orients/trains new hire of usage of Apotex Inc.’s standard cleaning products.
• Handles daily administration of the site shift e.g. Pest Control, Sanitation, Grounds keeping, Laundry and the Waste/Recycling program.
• Coordinates and oversees work activities involving the offices by responding to requests for access by Custodians and locks office afterwards.
• Liaise with external contractors scheduling their services in a timely manner including escorting the external contractors to assigned areas.
• Assists in performing general cleaning inside and outside of the facilities if required as below:
○ Clean offices including dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and washing walls and windows
○ Clean washrooms and change rooms and replenish supplies. (Soaps, Towels etc.)
○ Operate various cleaning machines including floor polisher, scrubbing and buffing machine
○ Clean warehouse floors, shelves, walls and forklift wheels
○ Clean laboratory and production areas and replenish supplies
○ Maintain coffee brewers as required
○ Dispose of garbage following proper procedures
○ Prepare approved cleaning solutions as required
○ Operate Washer and Dryer
• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and established Safety standards.
• Operate the Apotex Van delivering supplies between buildings when required (Signet, Etobicoke).
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and established safety standards (SWP).
• Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements
Education
○ Minimum Grade 12 Education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
○ The ability to lift 50 lbs
○ Displays strong organizational, time management and detail-oriented skills
○ Good communication skills, both written and oral
○ Good computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
○ Organizational and Priority Skills
Experience
○ Previous experience in Facilities coordination activities is preferred
