The Expo staff supports communication between the kitchen and service staff to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and delivered promptly.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the kitchen and bar to the guests.
- Assisting in the final preparation of dishes.
- Deliver orders to maintain fast service.
- Transfer essential information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g., when a customer has a particular request)
- Ensure strict compliance with Compass Quality Assurance, AGLC regulations and Health & Safety protocols.
- Strong organization skills with ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Assist staff to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
- Operate all departments POS systems and report malfunctions.
- Tidy up tables, counters, and other service areas.
- Restock the service areas with straws, coasters, napkins, and condiments.
- Prepare juices and cocktail garnishes.
- Assists service staff as needed.
- Display the ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks.
- Adhere to uniform standards and job specific standard operation procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Interest in the hospitality industry; previous entry-level experience in a bar or restaurant is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.
- Flexible availability; evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or willing to obtain.
- Excellent communication skills via in person.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
