The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. The Director Hospitality, Support Services serves as the senior onsite leader and single point of accountability for all Compass Group Canada operations at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, including Environmental Services (EVS), Patient Food Services, Retail Food Operations, Laundry & Linen Services, Portering, and Vending Solutions.
As the primary point of contact, this highly visible, hands-on leadership role is responsible for building confidence in service delivery, strengthening client relationships, driving issue resolution, and fostering a culture focused on patient, visitor, and staff experience. Acting as the single point of contact for operational escalations, the incumbent ensures concerns are proactively identified, addressed, resolved, and sustained.
The role is field-based and focused on creating a “best-in-class” support services experience through structured rounding, visible leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Serve as the senior onsite leader and single point of accountability for all Compass-managed services, including Environmental Services, Patient Food Services, Retail Food Operations, Laundry & Linen Services, Portering, and Vending Solutions.
- Champion a culture of care, service excellence, accountability, and ownership that inspires pride, engagement, and purpose across all levels of the organization.
- Maintain a highly visible, hands-on leadership presence through structured rounding, frontline engagement, proactive issue identification, and service recovery.
- Act as the trusted advisor and primary executive contact for hospital leadership, ensuring alignment, responsiveness, and strong client partnerships across all service lines.
- Drive financial stewardship and business performance across all service lines by managing budgets, optimizing resources, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering innovative solutions that create value for both the client and Compass Group Canada.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the patient, visitor, family, and caregiver experience while strengthening the appearance, responsiveness, and overall quality of the hospital environment.
- Establish clear escalation pathways and ownership processes, ensuring issues are addressed promptly, effectively, and sustainably.
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams through effective talent management, succession planning, performance accountability, and recognition.
- Foster collaborative and productive labour relations within a unionized environment through trust, communication, partnership, and mutual respect.
- Establish and sustain best-in-class operational standards, quality assurance programs, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives while identifying and implementing innovative solutions that improve service quality, operational effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction, and overall business performance.

- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within healthcare, hospitality, support services, facilities management, food services, or other complex multi-service environments.
- Proven success leading large-scale, multi-functional operations with accountability for quality, people leadership, financial performance, and client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead culture transformation initiatives and create highly engaged, service-focused teams.
- Experience working within a unionized environment and developing collaborative labour-management relationships.
