POSITION OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the General Manager and Chef, Dishwashers maintain a clean kitchen and food preparation environment ensuring safety, hygiene and cleanliness that meets or exceed hospitality best practices. This includes ensuring supplies, inventory, equipment and facilities are maintained in good order according to quality standards of cleanliness, food preparation, and food hygiene.
The incumbent will adhere to all health and safety legislation, regulations, and policies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Clean and Sanitize · Clean and sanitize food preparation equipment, dishes, cutlery and related areas · Sweep, mop, and spot clean floors · Empty trash and change trash liners · Thoroughly clean and sanitize walls, handles, doors, shelves, fridges and freezers as needed · Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle |

Keep Dish Area and Equipment Safe and Organized · Keep dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately to the Chef · Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and banquet areas · Keep storage areas organized and free of clutter · Follow all respectful workplace policies · Comply with all safety regulations and safe work practices · Maintain a safe work environment for both staff and general public |

Inventory Control and Distribution · Handle tableware carefully to prevent injuries, breakage and loss. · Notify the Chef(s) regarding supplies and equipment in a timely manner to ensure adequate levels are available · Receive and unload inventory, and maintain equipment and supplies for storage areas · Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies |
