The salary range for this position is $77,900 to $103,900. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. In this role, you will provide direct leadership to a team of Safety Specialists across Ontario, with full accountability for performance, capability development, and results. You will play a key role in translating safety strategies into practical execution, supporting operations while strengthening consistency, maturity, and outcomes across the province.

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Safety Specialists across Ontario.

Safety Program & Technical Leadership

Provide leadership and oversight across Occupational (People) Safety and Food Safety within a large, multi-site operating environment.

Ensure effective implementation and oversight of occupational safety and food safety programs in alignment with Corporate and regulatory requirements.

Act as a senior escalation point for complex issues, serious incidents, audits, and regulatory interactions.

Bring a modern, curious mindset to how safety and risk management are approached.

Leverage data, analytics, AI, and technology platforms to improve insight, prioritization, and decision-making.

Partner closely with Operations leaders, Support teams, Claims, and Clients to proactively manage risk.

Governance, Data & Continuous Improvement

Use trends, leading indicators, and root-cause analysis to identify risk and drive action.

Strengthen standardization, consistency, and continuous improvement across safety programs and practices.

Support enterprise initiatives related to safety systems, reporting, audits, and digital enablement.

Think you have what it takes to be our Senior Manager of Safety – Ontario? We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how we’ll know you are the best fit:
- 5–7+ years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Food Safety.
- 2–3+ years of experience managing direct reports, including coaching, performance management, and development.
- Experience leading safety professionals in a multi-site, operational, and/or unionized environment.
- Strong, practical understanding of occupational health & safety legislation and/or food safety regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to balance technical expertise with people leadership, business partnership, and execution.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, or a related discipline.
- Professional designation such as CRSP, CHSC, CPH, and/or recognized food safety credentials (HACCP, GFSI, SQF, etc.) are strongly preferred.
- A confident, approachable people leader who sets direction and enables others to succeed.
- Curious and adaptable, with interest in technology, AI, and modern problem-solving approaches.
- Sound judgment when navigating complex or high-risk safety matters.
- Clear communicator with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Organized and resilient, able to lead effectively across a broad and dynamic portfolio.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with periodic field visits.
- Frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
- Some travel required within Ontario.
