The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. The Corporate Executive Chef is responsible for driving culinary excellence across all operations by setting high standards for food quality, innovation, and consistency. This role leads the development of new menu programs and stays ahead of industry trends through research and experimentation, while ensuring all initiatives are practical and aligned with business objectives. The Chef oversees data-driven menu development, integrating insights to optimize performance, and owns all sector-specific culinary projects using structured planning frameworks. They design and implement comprehensive training systems, develop team capabilities and provide strategic leadership to Sector Chefs across regions. As a key ambassador of menu management platforms, the Corporate Executive Chef ensures adoption, compliance, and operational efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and culinary innovation.
Now, if you were to come on board as our Corporate Executive Chef, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Ensure managers’ compliance with all ESS, Compass Group and Client operating policies and procedures.
- Support implementation and management of all ESS/ECC brand standards across the business.
- Act as “keeper of menu” – coordinate development of menu cycles and recipes; advise on purchasing with a focus on product quality, cost and avoiding product shortages.
- Organize and conduct special events at all locations to raise the culinary profile of ESS/ECC that may include special tastings, food sampling, menu innovation sessions or menu RFP sessions.
- Coordinate and support high profile catered functions.
- Review services to ensure all health and safety and food safety issues are addressed and resolved promptly.
- Provide in-unit training for culinary programs ensuring job specific and safety training of employees; conduct accident investigations and complete necessary documentation where required.
- Identify and implement leading edge back of house and front of house operational systems and procedures, including software and support technology, to ensure the professional delivery of food, service, guest satisfaction, cost control and HSE standards.
- Maintain excellent communications and relations with Client’s management and guests while ensuring their complete satisfaction.
- Maintain superior product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints; initiate corrective action.
- Work with the procurement teams to ensure product purchasing compliance wherever possible.
- Work with the sales team on RFP development and submissions.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in fine cuisine and a diploma in food services management training (or equivalent culinary certificate); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Red Seal certification; CCC preferred.
- Must be able to travel frequently and independently.
- Must have a driver’s license.
- Recent experience as an executive chef.
- Broad and thorough knowledge of global food and cooking techniques.
- Excellent managerial skills.
- Excellent client relations.
- Bilingual is an asset.
- Well versed in basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Canva, Smart Sheet, Teams, etc.
