The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, & discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. The Director, Business Development is responsible for the generation of new business opportunities, creation of compelling & strategic proposals, presentations & multiple client entry strategies. This is an independent contributor role.
Now, if you were to come on board as our Director, Business Development, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Lead Generation/Prospecting: Market research to source new business opportunities.
- Communication: Letters, emails, writing proposals, preparing presentations. Leads, directs & communicates strategy between internal/external stakeholders.
- Relationship Management: Multiple level contacts with client organizations. Builds long-term account value with executive c-level relationships. Manages internal relationships to ensure solution meets clients’ key decision criteria.
- Strategic Planning: Develops compelling strategies: client contact, relationship management, bidding & winning, leads long-term strategic planning.
- Database Management: Creates/maintains accurate records of all client contact & opportunity details.
- Pipeline Management: Demonstrated experience building a healthy pipeline of opportunities, accurately forecasts future business wins.
- Time Management: Successfully multi-tasks, creates sense of urgency, works within deadlines.
- Event Management: Plan & support client events.
- Report Completion: Relevant to YTD results, strategic plans & annual budgets
- Negotiations: Ability to negotiate successful contract execution with clients. Develop proposals, deliver presentations, gain consensus.
- Project Management: Lead/liaise with project team and SMEs.

- Min 5 years’ experience in an active hunter sales role with no limits on commissions.
- High degree of resiliency, very entrepreneurial in approach.
- Demonstrated experience delivering sales success results.
- Willing to adopt our proven sales model which provides the opportunity to leverage your sales acumen while being open & committed to learning a new go to market sales approach.
- Hands-on Sales Professional; sales process focused, relationship builder both internally & externally.
- Territory management expertise, ideally in Senior Living Retirement or Hotel Hospitality.
- High degree of personal accountability, integrity and assertiveness to manage the internal sale & deliver required outcomes.
- Ability to travel approximately min of 30% of the time.
