Pay Information
In accordance with provincial legislation and our commitment to transparent hiring practices, the compensation range for this position is provided. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Canadian work experience is not required. Our Hospitality & Operations team is seeking a highly organized, service-driven, and people-focused Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support daily operations and deliver exceptional client, guest, and employee experiences. The AGM plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operational execution and is accountable for upholding Compass Group’s core pillars of Safety, Quality, Growth, Culture, and Innovation.
Reporting to the General Manager, the AGM supports overall operations across the unit, collaborates closely with clients and internal teams, and provides leadership that fosters an engaged, high performing culture. This role ensures operational standards are met, contractual expectations are achieved, and continuous improvement is embedded in all areas of service delivery.
Job Summary
Now, if you were to come on board as our Assistant General Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Support client relationship management by ensuring contract requirements, reporting, and performance metrics are consistently met.
- Assist in operational reviews, journey mapping, and improvement initiatives.
- Collect and analyze unit data to support business reviews and respond to client inquiries.
- Ensure all KPI, SLA, and service standards are understood and achieved.
- Lead end to end recruitment, onboarding, and training for unit employees.
- Foster an inclusive culture built on coaching, recognition, and accountability.
- Maintain performance standards through 30/60/90 reviews, annual appraisals, and participation in talent mapping.
- Support development, succession planning, and mentorship of frontline leaders.
- Support budget creation, financial reporting, pricing management, and cost controls.
- Monitor labour ratios, product costs, and operational expenditures to ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Ensure exceptional client, guest, and employee experiences through consistent service standards and quality control.
- Lead implementation of goals, SOPs, training programs, and service-focused orientation processes.
- Develop action plans based on feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify operational enhancements, efficiencies, and revenue growth opportunities.
- Encourage a culture of innovation and challenge the status quo to drive performance.
- Oversee daily floor operations in alignment with contract requirements, budget targets, SOPs, and corporate policies.
- Manage inventory, par levels, buffet presentation standards, and F&B execution.
- Support culinary training initiatives and maintain quality and presentation excellence.
- Oversee facility upkeep, maintenance planning, smallware and supplies, and furniture/equipment tracking.
- Support event booking procedures, planning meetings, and communication with internal teams.
- Ensure booking systems, policies, and service expectations are consistently upheld.
- Manage escalations, client expectations, and day of execution requirements.
- Lead unit level projects and collaborate with support services as needed.
- Maintain SOPs, tracking lists, performance audits, schedules, and vacation planning.
- Analyze guest feedback to drive service improvements.
