Job Summary
How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of meal service and managing the maintenance of guest cabins and all public areas on board the ship.
As a Ship Steward, you will:
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of each room occupied and non-occupied. Communicate with customers about their demands and orders
- Assist with loading of luggage as directed
- Greet guests upon arrival and departure
- Maintain stocks of toiletries, towels, bed linens, blankets, and all other supplies for guests
- Help with dishwashing and galley cleaning chores, and assist with the removal of food refuse, glass and other kitchen waste to dumpster on deck
- Sweep and mop floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Operate large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers
About you:
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures, colour coding cleaning and correct chemicals used for cleaning
- Experience and/or training in the hospitality field considered a plus
- Effective communication skills
- Must be able to work unsupervised and to a fixed time of schedule
- Must be able to work under pressure
