Job Summary
How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager with the supervision of service in the dining service areas.
As a Head Waiter, you will:
- Promptly and warmly greet guests and accompanies them to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements. Oversee guest flow within the restaurant.
- Manage the reservations system.
- Promote an overall enjoyable dining experience; promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests and associates.
- Advise guests on menu and beverage selections.
- Liaise between kitchen staff and dining room staff.
- Supervise the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
- Help train new food-service team members and provide ongoing customer-service training.
- Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room; ensure servers complete side work and station setup
About you:
- You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
- Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
- Attentiveness and patience for customers
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Active listening and effective communication skills
