Job Summary
Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Senior Event Specialist, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Attend client meetings to understand their needs and provide expertise on planning and execution and service delivery.
- Place orders for office catering and ensure accurate labeling for all food items.
- Lead daily BEO meetings to review the upcoming day’s events and address any outstanding needs.
- Send security access details for all event attendees.
- Walk buffet lines and setups to ensure proper labeling and alignment with dietary requirements.
- Delegate tasks to the bookings and events team, ensuring priorities are clear and timelines are met.
- Train team members in EMS, CVENT, and other relevant systems.
- Provide day-to-day support for the concierge and events teams, reinforcing established SOPs.
- Mentor team members and address planning-related questions or challenges.
- Establish rapport with frequent bookers, acting as a consistent point of contact for their events.
- Provide quotes to organizers and assist them with realistic budgeting for standard events.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and flexible approach to all client interactions.
- Request quotes from suppliers and caterers for signature and buyout events, ensuring alignment with event requirements.
- Liaise with vendors to secure necessary materials and services for events.

- Post-secondary education with at least 4 years of progressive foodservice management experience in a licensed full-service environment.
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to supervise and secure the co-operation and engagement of the managed employees.
- Demonstrated creative flair for menu planning, preparation and presentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Effective team player who works collaboratively with others.
- Advanced Food Safety Training (AFST) plus Level 1 and 2 Health and Safety Certification training (or willing to complete within 90 days of hire).
